Um, why is it suddenly so frowned upon to accept gender as what it is?

This is a school. Since when were gender specific toys necessary anyway? Seems to me like someone just wanted their face on the internet so made up some wacko rules and regulations to make themselves seem "different". I own/work at a montessori school, the kids play with toys but we don't say, "Okay children boys can not play with the barbies because that is a girls toy." We don't have barbie dolls at our school but bottom line...it doesn't matter. Kids are here to learn and socialize with each other. I will not call a boy "my friend" to stray away from the fact that he is in fact a boy, he in fact has a penis and that makes him a male but that does mean that he has to play a certain sport or do cerain things and aren't we as parents, educators and mentors here to direct kids in what they want to do and we can't we do that without motorcycles or barbies? That's just very silly and a waste of time.
