Does this make a difference for consistency?

I just bought an r9 460 driver. im 5'7" and after going back on ebay to see my tracking number i realized the driver was 46". im pretty sure thats too big. is it for my size? will it affect my drives alot? i heard you can get them shaved down, where can i get this done? and how much will it cost? thanks. btw its a ust proforce v2 graphite regular shaft. thanks.
